# Vocations in Aincrad

Aincrad has three base vocations, each with two ascendancy classes (promotions) that unlock at level 20. Your vocation defines your combat role, stat growth, and playstyle.

# Vocation Basics

Each vocation has unique strengths, weaknesses, and specializations. Your choice determines:

  • Combat style - Melee, ranged, or magic
  • Spell arsenal - Unique spells and abilities
  • Stat progression - How your character's attributes grow
  • Equipment preferences - Optimal gear for your playstyle

# Base Vocations

Wizard Magic DPS Spell High mana, magic shield, powerful spells
Archer Ranged DPS Physical/Distance Balanced HP/mana, versatile combat

# Choosing Your Vocation

You choose your vocation when creating your character. This is a permanent choice for that character, so consider:

  1. Playstyle preference — Do you prefer melee, ranged, or magic?
  2. Role preference — Do you want to burst down enemies, sustain through fights, or support?
  3. Group composition — What does your team need?
